Antique 19C Victorian (or possibly 20C Edwardian) American walnut beech oak (this is one of those hard to tell pieces) rocking chair.
Very ornate and attractive chair, that is full of charm and character..
No loose joints and the rocking mechanism works well.
Lovely age colour and patina.
Would look great in the right location.
Period ceramic castors to the front legs (some wear) as is usual.
Overall dimensions 590mmW x 750mmD x 1030mmH (360mmH seat).
There is evidence of some historic knocks, marks and repairs as one may expect given the age of the chair. The seat covers are old with some wear and marks. There are some historic woodworm holes, that we have treated for good measure.
