Antique tall large quality Gothic late Victorian 19C (could be Edwardian early 20C) ash (similar to light oak) armoire wardrobe.
Very large and tall proportions making it quite imposing, with clean Gothic lines.
Wardrobes such as this are rare.
Lovely age, colour and patina.
Would look fantastic in the right location.
The drawer slides freely and the two cupboard doors open easily (via catches operated by turning the handles).
Good storage, with two hanging compartments both with hooks and hanging rails.
Good internal depth of 480mm.
The wardrobe has its original fabric linings which are old, tired and stained. Some customers may wish to remove or replace these.
A great look, together with a lovely shape and proportions.
Only the cornice removes for transport and so it is unlikely to fit up tight staircases etc.
Being 2450mm high you will need high ceilings if it is to fit!
Overall dimensions 1240mmW x 580mmD x 2450mmH.
Hanginging compartments: 550mmW x 480mmD x 1380mmH
and 550mmW x 480mmD x 1660mmH.
There is no key.
There are some historical knocks, marks, repairs and alterations, as one should expect from furniture of this age. There is only slight oxidation / hazing on the bevel edge mirror. The rear piece of the cornice is missing (see rear photo), however this is not visible and the cornice sits on the top fine without it.
Please note that this item is large and heavy. Please make sure before buying that it will fit in and can be maneuvered into the room that it is intended for. The customer will need to provide 1 (or more if going upstairs) strong able bodied person(s) for our driver to assist with carrying.
