Antique Regency / early Victorian scroll arm sofa chaise longue.
Dates from C1825- 1850 (includes Regency, William IV and early Victorian periods).
Rare and attractive....better than most, constructed from walnut or another similar show wood.
Includes the bolster cushions.
Horsehair / wadding stuffing with a sprung seat (no nasty lumps and bumps).
Very heavy and strong, with no loose joints.
Great proportions and styling, which would look amazing in the right location.
The sofa has recently been reupholstered in a heavy weight upholstery fabric, although not new, there is no significant wear or marks. If requested our upholsterer would recover the piece in a customer's fabric and trim for £300.
Overall maximum dimensions:
198cmW x 64cmD x 95cmH (43cmH seat when sat on).
Historic knocks, marks, cracks, scratches, repairs and alterations, as is always the way with antique furniture. We have not inspected beneath the upholstery. Dissimilar period castors with some wear (as you would expect). Just a few historic, extinct woodworm holes, that we have treated for good measure.
Please note that this item is large and heavy. Please make sure before buying that it will fit in and can be maneuvered into the room that it is intended for. The customer will need to provide 1 strong able bodied person for our driver to assist with carrying.
