Antique 18th Century Burr Figured Walnut Tallboy Chest on Chest of Drawers
A fine quality 18th Century antique tallboy, featuring attractive burr walnut veneers with a rich patina that adds to its character and charm. The chest separates into two halves for easier transport.
The piece is strong and sturdy, with no loose joints. The oak-lined drawers slide smoothly.

In very good antique condition with expected signs of age, including historic knocks, marks, cracks, scratches, and wear. The locks are untested as there are no keys, and some historic (now extinct) woodworm holes have been treated as a precaution. The chest has early gilt ormolu handles, which may be original, though one swan neck arm has been replaced with a similar piece. Typical construction with walnut veneers on softwood, except the drawers, which are veneered on oak.
