Antique Oriental Japanese large fine quality bronze Buddhist Tearai basin for water libation in a temple. Dates from the late Edo Period, mid 19th Century and is well suited for use as a bowl, planter or jardinière.
Would look amazing in the right location and make a fabulous centre piece. Great colour and patina.
Overall maximum dimensions: 40cm diameter x 24cm high (internally 36cm diameter x 13cm deep). Weighs 4.4kg.
In very good antique condition, with minor historic knocks and marks, as is typical, nothing bad. Probably not watertight, so should be used with a liner.
